Gas grills are fast and convenient, but sometimes you want the authentic feel of a charcoal grill and that classic flavor you can never achieve with a pure gas grill. With Napoleon's charcoal tray, you can easily convert your Napoleon gas grill into a charcoal grill, and additionally add delicious smoky aroma whenever you wish.
The charcoal tray is made of solid cast iron and has 54 holes in the bottom, ensuring efficient air and heat circulation. The result is that charcoal or briquettes receive even and powerful heat, perfect for traditional grilling. In one corner, you'll find an integrated container for wood chips. Add your desired wood type and give meat, fish, or vegetables a distinctive smoky flavor.

How to use the charcoal tray in a Napoleon gas grill:
- Place charcoal or briquettes on the tray.
- Remove grates and Sear Plates.
- Place the tray directly on the burners.
- Light the burners until the coals glow.
- Turn off the gas, reinsert the grates, and continue grilling over glowing coals.
If you want a smoky flavor, follow the same procedure and fill the small pocket with wood chips. As the chips heat up, aromatic smoke is released, enhancing the flavor.
