All-grain beer kits for brewing real craft beer
An all-grain beer kit contains pre-weighed malt, hops, yeast and a brewing guide for one batch of 23–25 litres. You mash, boil and ferment yourself, just like a brewery. Here you will find around 100 kits, from pilsner and kölsch to IPA, stout and Christmas beer, in the Project Brew and Brewolution series and with recipes from a number of breweries.
The recipes are developed and tested for you, and the kits suit both brewers who want to get started quickly and experienced brewers looking for inspiration for their own recipes.
How to choose the right all-grain kit
- Beer style and fermentation temperature: Ale kits usually ferment at 18–20 °C. Classic lager needs cooler fermentation, but kits with NovaLager, such as Fairytale Pils, make pilsner at 18 °C.
- Your brewing system: The kits are designed for 23–25 litres and suit common all-in-one systems such as the Grainfather G30. With a larger system you can brew two or three kits at once.
- What is included: Malt, hops, yeast and a brewing guide. Priming sugar is not included, and most kits do not include fining agent or yeast nutrient either.
| Kit | Style | ABV | Malt | Fermentation |

The range of all-grain kits
- Project Brew beer kits – the series with Summer Kölsch, Surfer Golden Ale and Refresco Mexican Lager, among others.
- Brewery beer kits – recipes from breweries such as Lervig, Amundsen, Austmann, Kinn, Haandbryggeriet, 7 Fjell, Ægir and Ringnes, including Amundsen Apocalyptic Thunder Juice.
- Brewolution beer kits – a separate series of classic and modern styles, from kölsch and hefeweizen to imperial stout.
- Bonsak – kits with Norwegian malt from Bonsak Gårdsmalteri in Skogn, such as Fairytale Pils.
Fresh malt – whole or crushed
Good ingredients are essential for good beer, which is why we store the malt for the kits whole. If you do not have your own grain mill, you can choose to have the malt crushed when you order online. Read more in our blog post on freshly crushed malt (in Norwegian).
Bottles, cans or keg?
Whether you package in bottles, cans or kegs is a matter of preference. Hop-forward beers are more prone to oxidation, so for those we recommend kegging. See our range of kegs and CO2.
Frequently asked questions about all-grain kits
What is an all-grain beer kit?
An all-grain beer kit is a complete set of malt, hops and yeast for one batch of beer, with a recipe and brewing guide. Unlike extract kits and Fresh Wort Kits, you mash and boil yourself.
How much beer does an all-grain kit make?
Most kits give 23–25 litres of wort for fermentation. Lervig Lucky Jack, for example, gives about 23 litres of finished beer from 25 litres into the fermenter.
What equipment do I need for all-grain brewing?
You need a brewing system or a mash tun and boil kettle, a fermenter with airlock, sanitiser and bottles or a keg. Without a grain mill, order the malt crushed.
Is priming sugar included?
No. Sugar or carbonation drops for bottling are sold separately. If you carbonate in a keg, you do not need sugar.
What is the difference between an all-grain kit and a Fresh Wort Kit?
With an all-grain kit you do the whole brew day yourself. A Fresh Wort Kit is finished wort that only needs fermenting.
