How to choose a drip tray

Counter: A freestanding drip tray sits under the tap. AEB makes 15 x 22 cm, 40 x 22 cm and 60 x 22 cm trays in Italy, and Krome Dispense has a 30 x 20 cm tray with drain.
With tower cut-out: The Krome Dispense 30 x 18 cm with cut-out has a 12.7 cm opening, so the tower stands in the tray.
Shank mounted: Shank-mounted drip trays hang on the tap shanks in a door or wall, for example on a kegerator or keezer. Krome Dispense makes them for 1, 2, 3 and 4 taps, from 20 to 36 cm wide.
Wall mounted: The ACU Wall Mount Drip Tray is made in the USA from brushed 304 stainless steel, with pre-drilled holes for 2, 3, 4 or 6 taps and a drain with 1/2" NPT thread.
With glass rinser: The Krome Dispense 25 x 18 cm with rinser comes in steel and matte black, and in 50 x 18 cm. AEB has recessed 40 and 60 cm drip trays with rinser and drain, and Micro Matic has a 100 cm tray with rinser for bars.

Frequently asked questions about drip trays

What size drip tray do I need?

The tray should be wider than the distance between the outermost taps. For one tap, 15–20 cm is enough, while three to four taps need 30–45 cm. Shank-mounted and wall-mounted trays are made for a set number of taps.

Does a drip tray with glass rinser need a water connection?

Yes. The rinser must be connected to water, and the tray should have a drain. Check local plumbing regulations before installing.

What is a shank-mounted drip tray?

It is a drip tray that hangs on the tap shanks, so you do not have to drill into the wall or door. It suits kegerators and keezers with taps in the door.
