Beer taps and draught towers – for kegerators, keezers, walls and bars

Here you will find draught towers and beer taps for serving beer from kegs, along with shanks, handles and spare parts. The range goes from the Picnic Tap that connects straight to the corny keg, via Ultratap and Intertap for kegerators and keezers, to Cobra towers with cooling loop from Lindr and side-pour taps from LUKR for Czech pilsner.

How to choose the right beer tap

Threads first: Ultratap, Intertap and Perlick have American threads. Lindr taps and LUKR with EU shank have 5/8" BSP European threads. The tower and shank must match the tap. A Lindr Tap Adapter connects the two standards.
Forward sealing: Ultratap SS seals at the front of the tap, so no beer is left standing inside the tap body between pours. It was developed by Brad Amidzich, who is also behind the original Intertap, and comes in stainless steel, black and gold.
Flow control: Flow control lets you set how fast the beer runs, giving less foam at high pressure. On the Ultratap Twist you turn the handle, while the Intertap Flow Master has a side lever with stops at fully open and fully closed. For Lindr towers there is a Lindr flow control tap in chrome and in high-gloss polished stainless steel, recommended for sparkling water and acidic drinks.
Stout and nitro: The Ultratap Stout Spout has a removable creamer disc and turns a standard Ultratap into a stout tap. The English Sparkler Spout, the Krome Dispense stout tap and the Lindr Sparkler Tap do the same job.
Side-pour: LUKR Nostalgie and Baroko use a ball valve and give the dense, wet foam of Czech pubs.
No tower: The Picnic Tap 2.1 from Homebrewer LAB comes with a ball lock disconnect and connects straight to the keg. It has built-in flow control and needs no long anti-foam line.

Draught towers – number of taps and cooling

FasTap Font Kit from Keg King is a pre-assembled 304 stainless steel tower, 320 mm high, with Ultratap taps, shanks with self-closing springs, EvaFresh 5/16" lines and ball lock disconnects. It comes with one to three taps, for example the FasTap Font Kit with 2 taps. UltraT FasTap has two to four taps.
Cobra towers with cooling loop from Lindr come for 2, 3 and 4 taps. The beer and coolant tubes are 5/16", and the tower connects to a glycol chiller or an ice bank cooler, keeping the beer cold all the way to the tap. Taps are sold separately, see the Cobra tower for 2 taps.

Shanks, handles and spare parts

Shanks come in 5, 10, 20 and 25 cm for doors and walls, 35 and 65 mm for Lindr taps, and as a 1.5" Tri-Clamp shank from Project Brew for your own tri-clamp towers. A short shank with 1/4" John Guest connection makes it easy to fit 3/16" anti-foam line. Frequently asked questions about beer taps and towers

Does an Ultratap fit a Lindr tower?

Not directly. Ultratap has American threads, while Lindr towers have 5/8" BSP European threads. The Lindr Tap Adapter converts from European to American threads.

Why is my beer tap pouring foam?

Usually the beer line is too short or too wide for the pressure. Switch to 3/16" anti-foam line, for example with the Quick Fix anti-foam line kit, or use a tap with flow control. A cold tower and cold lines also help.

Can I pour from a corny keg without a tower?

Yes. The Picnic Tap 2.1 connects straight to the ball lock post on the keg and has built-in flow control, so you can pour from the keg in the fridge without a tower or long lines.

Which beer tap suits stout and nitro beer?

You need a tap with a creamer or restrictor disc. The Ultratap Stout Spout and English Sparkler Spout turn an Ultratap into a stout tap, and Krome Dispense and Lindr have dedicated stout taps.
