Label printers and label applicators – equipment for labelling in production
This category is for breweries, cider makers and food producers who print and apply their own labels: full-colour label printers from Primera and DTM, semi-automatic label applicators in the Primera AP series and unwinders and rewinders for label rolls. All machines are made to order. If you only need labels for a few cases of homebrew, you will find HERMA labels under labelling.

How to set up label production
- Print the labels on a roll with a label printer. Label design software comes with the LX500ec.
- Rewind the printed labels tight and straight onto a 76.2 mm (3") core with the RW-7 rewinder. The UW-7 unwinder takes rolls up to 177.8 mm (7") and doubles the capacity per roll.
- Apply the labels with a label applicator. The Primera AP360e is foot-pedal operated and applies up to 1,200 labels per hour to cylindrical and many tapered containers: bottles, cans, jars and tubes. A spring-loaded pressure arm applies the label without wrinkles.
The AP380e is the most advanced model in the AP series, with a built-in liner rewinder and a push button as well as the foot switch.

With separate cyan, magenta, yellow and black cartridges you only replace the colour that runs out. Pigment ink gives labels that resist water and sunlight better than dye ink.

The Primera AP-series applicators apply up to 1,200 labels per hour. You set the guides, place the container in the machine and press the foot switch.
Which label printer suits custom-shaped labels?
The Primera LX610e prints and digitally contour-cuts the labels, so you do not need pre-die-cut stock. It suits product development and short runs.
What does a label rewinder do?
A rewinder winds the printed labels tight and straight onto a new core, ready for a label applicator or for hand application.
Are the label printers stock items?
No. The label printers, applicators and roll handlers are made to order, and the UW-7 and RW-7 ship directly from the manufacturer.
