Wine Coolers – freestanding and built-in models from Caso
A wine cooler gives you control of temperature and a practical home for your wine collection. Our range is from Caso and holds 12 to 126 bottles, in both freestanding and built-in versions. Every model has compressor cooling, a 5–20 °C temperature range and UV-filter glass, and most have two temperature zones.
Which wine cooler should you choose?
The right wine cooler depends on where it will stand, how many bottles you want to store, and whether the wine is for ageing or serving. Compare capacity, dimensions, zones, noise level and energy use.
A small cooler keeps a selection of wine close at hand. A larger one gives room for more types of wine and a growing collection. Bottle shape and size affect how many actually fit.

Freestanding or built-in wine cooler?
A freestanding wine cooler can go in the kitchen, dining room or wine room. Leave enough space around it for air, and follow the model's ventilation requirements.
A built-in wine cooler is designed for fitting into a matching niche. The Caso WineDeluxe series is made for this: the WD 60 fits a 122 cm niche and the WD 96 a 178 cm niche. Always check the niche dimensions, ventilation requirements and door clearance before fitting. A freestanding cooler should only be built in if the model is approved for it, as the WineChef Duo 122 is.
Wine coolers with two temperature zones
Two temperature zones let you keep each part of the cabinet at a different temperature. That is useful when you want both red and white wine ready to serve, with the white cooler than the red. The WineExclusive 24, 38, 66 and 126 Smart, the WineChef Duo 122 and the WineDeluxe WDU 36 and WD 96 have two zones. The WineExclusive 12 has one.
UV protection and app control
All the Caso wine coolers in our range have UV-filter glass and a fan or active ventilation. The UV filter reduces exposure to UV light, while ventilation keeps the temperature even.
To control the temperature from your phone, choose a Smart model in the WineExclusive series or a WineDeluxe model, controlled with the Caso Control App over WiFi. The WineExclusive 12 and WineChef Duo 122 do not have app control.
Frequently asked questions about wine coolers
What is the difference between a wine cabinet and a wine fridge?
The terms usually mean the same thing: a fridge built for wine bottles, with temperature control for wine. If you want to age wine for a long time, check each cabinet's features and intended use.
What temperature should a wine cooler be set to?
Caso wine coolers can be set from 5 to 20 °C. White and sparkling wine are served cooler than red. With two zones you can have both ready at once, while a single-zone cooler is set for the wine you keep most of.
How noisy is a wine cooler?
The noise level is listed on each product page. The WineDeluxe WDU 36 and WD 60 are rated at 38 dB, the WineChef Duo 122 at 39 dB and the WineExclusive 126 Smart at 46 dB.
Can I build in a freestanding wine cooler?
Only if the manufacturer has approved the model for built-in use. A freestanding cooler needs air around it to get rid of heat. The WineChef Duo 122 can be used both freestanding and built in.
