Apollo 60L Snub Nose pressure fermenter – conical PET fermenter from Keg King
The Apollo 60L Snub Nose (Fermenter King) is a large, conical PET pressure fermenter with a closed bottom from Keg King. It lets you ferment under pressure, dry hop without opening the lid, carbonate in the tank and transfer the beer to kegs in a closed system. It has an integrated thermowell, a dry hop port and a larger opening that makes it easier to clean. The tank comes with a stand and wheels.
What you can do with the Apollo Snub Nose
- Ferment under pressure. You need a spunding valve to control the fermentation pressure, normally 0.7–1 bar.
- Dry hop hygienically through the dry hop port in the lid.
- Carbonate the beer in the tank. The tank is rated for use up to 2.4 bar and pressure tested up to 5 bar.
- Monitor the temperature inside the beer with the integrated thermowell.
- Serve straight from the tank: connect a tap and use the Apollo as a keg.
- Transfer the beer oxygen-free to kegs in a closed system.
- Ferment without pressure: use one ball lock post as a blow-off, or fit an airlock in the port for the pressure relief valve.

What pressure should I ferment at?
Normally 0.7–1 bar. You control the pressure with a spunding valve.
Can I ferment without pressure?

What is the difference between the Snub Nose and the Apollo Unitank?
The Snub Nose has a closed bottom. The Apollo 60L Unitank has a bottom valve (Plunger Valve) for dumping yeast and hops during fermentation.
Can I fill hot wort into the tank?
No. The tank must not be exposed to liquid above 50 °C, as the PET can soften and deform.
How do I avoid suck-back when cold crashing?
Put a little CO2 pressure on the tank before chilling, so it does not draw in air or liquid as the beer contracts.
