BEST Roasted Barley 25 kg – roasted barley for stout and dark beers
BEST Roasted Barley gives the beer a characteristic dark depth of colour. Depending on the amount, it adds intense roasted notes and bitter aromas reminiscent of strong black coffee or espresso. It also clearly improves foam stability. The barley is roasted directly, without malting.

How to order
The malt comes in 25 kg sacks. A full pallet holds 32 sacks, and on request we can supply big bags of 500–1000 kg. If you need smaller amounts, BEST Roasted Barley is also sold per 100 g.

Is BEST Roasted Barley a malt?
No. The barley is roasted directly without malting. It adds colour and roasted flavour but no enzymes, so it is used in small amounts together with a base malt. Bestmalz recommends up to 5%.
How long does BEST Roasted Barley keep?
Bestmalz states at least 24 months for whole malt stored cool (max. 20°C) and dry (max. 35% relative humidity). Crushed malt keeps for 12 months.
