Grifo Marchetti – cappers, fruit presses and plate filters from Italy
Grifo Marchetti is an Italian manufacturer of machines for capping, corking, crushing, pressing and filtering, with roots in the Italian wine tradition. Here you will find cappers for beer crown caps, a corker for champagne corks, water-powered presses of 20, 40 and 80 litres, fruit mills, a grape crusher-destemmer and plate filters with filter pads from 0.5 to 11 microns. Brewshop is the Grifo distributor in Norway.
Cappers for beer, wine and sparkling wine
The TC2T bench capper is a simple, reliable capper for beer bottles. It comes with bells for 26 and 29 mm caps and can be screwed to the bench. The Super Grifo is a sturdier capper with an aluminium head, a drawn-steel column and a cast-iron base. Its height-adjustable lever takes everything from small juice bottles to large wine bottles, and the 26 and 29 mm bells have a magnet that holds the cap in place. The Super Grifo is also widely used by sparkling wine producers for the first stage of ageing. For champagne corks there is a dedicated corker with chrome-plated brass jaws, plus spare 26 and 29 mm bells for the bench capper.
Fruit presses and fruit mills
The PEW20, PEW40 and PEW80 hydropresses use water pressure. A natural rubber bladder fills with water and presses the fruit evenly against the basket, so the press needs neither electricity nor effort, only a water supply. The presses are made of stainless steel, and the PEW40 comes with a cloth that filters the juice. Before pressing, the fruit is crushed in a fruit mill. The manual fruit mill has stainless steel blades and a 43 × 36 cm hopper. The AM1 has a 2.2 kW motor and crushes up to 1000 kg of apples or pears per hour. For grape wine there is the DMA, a manual grape crusher that also removes the stems.
Plate filters and filter pads
A plate filter clarifies wine, juice, vinegar, spirits and other liquids by pumping them through 20 × 20 cm filter pads. The FCH10 Hobby is made of enamelled steel, takes up to 10 filter pads and filters up to 250 litres per hour. The FCP10T bench model (10 pads) and the FCP20 (20 pads) are made of AISI 304 stainless steel and have a pressure gauge and flow control valve.

Frequently asked questions about Grifo Marchetti
Which filter pad should I choose?
The lower the micron rating, the finer the filtration. V8 at 11 microns is the coarsest and V24 at 0.5 microns the finest. Filtering coarse first and fine afterwards means the fine pads clog less.
Does the hydropress need electricity?
No. The Grifo hydropresses run on water pressure. You connect the press to a water supply, and the bladder fills and presses the fruit.
Which caps does the Super Grifo take?
The Super Grifo comes with bells for 26 and 29 mm caps. The TC2T bench capper takes the same two sizes.
How much fruit can the AM1 crush?
The AM1 crushes up to 1000 kg of apples or pears per hour, for juice, cider or spirits.
