The John Guest 5/16" – 3/8" Enlarger is an adapter that steps the tube or pipe size up from 5/16" to 3/8". Use it when a 5/16" line needs to continue in 3/8", for example in a beer dispensing system or a CO2 line. What is the difference between an enlarger and a reducer?
Both are adapters between two sizes. An enlarger goes from a smaller to a larger size, here from 5/16" to 3/8". A reducer goes the other way.
How are John Guest sizes measured?
John Guest fittings are sized by the outside diameter (OD) of the tube. 3/8" therefore fits tube with a 3/8" outside diameter.
How do I release the tube?
Push the collet in towards the fitting and pull the tube out at the same time. Depressurise the line first.
