Bonsak Malt – Norwegian floor-malted malt in 25 kg sacks
Bonsak Malt is Norwegian craft malt from Bonsak Gårdsmalteri, supplied in 25 kg sacks. At Bonsak the farmer follows the grain from the field through the malt house to the brewer, and the malt is made by traditional floor malting. Here you will find pilsner, ale, Munich and wheat malt from Bonsak.

The malts from Bonsak
- Fairytale Pils Malt, 3–4 EBC – made from the two-row barley variety Fairytale. Gives a clean, malty, bready and slightly floral flavour and a pale colour.
- Fairytale ALE Malt, 6–9 EBC – base malt for ales.
- Fairytale Munich Malt, 18–21 EBC – for malty and darker beers.
- Hvete Pale Malt, 6–8 EBC – wheat malt from Bonsak.

What is floor malting?
Floor malting is the traditional way of malting barley, where the grain germinates in a thin layer on a floor and is turned by hand. According to Bonsak the method gives more depth of flavour and aroma than industrial pneumatic malting.
