KeyKeg – couplers, filling equipment and accessories for breweries

Here breweries and bars will find KeyKeg couplers from KeyKeg, Micro Matic and Krome Dispense, manual filling heads, snap caps, spare parts and cleaning adapters. The couplers have 5/8" BSP connections and fit both KeyKeg and PolyKeg with K-valve. The kegs themselves, PolyKeg PRO with K-valve, are listed under PolyKeg.

How to choose the right KeyKeg coupler

Material: The KeyKeg coupler has a stainless steel body and probe. Krome Dispense has a chrome-plated brass body and a 304 stainless steel probe.
Safety: The KeyKeg coupler has an integrated safety valve, and the Krome Dispense coupler has a pressure relief valve (PRV).
Connections: Gas and beverage ports are 5/8" BSP male. With John Guest F 5/8" BSP to 3/8" for beer and to 5/16" for gas you go straight to push-fit tubing. You can also use a 10 mm hose tail with a 5/8" or 1/2" BSP nut.
Included: The KeyKeg and Micro Matic couplers come with a deflating tool and a bar instruction card. Krome Dispense is supplied without a hose tail.
Beverages: The Micro Matic coupler is intended for beer, wine, cider, kombucha and soft drinks.

Filling and dispensing KeyKeg

The KeyKeg Manual Filling Head fills kegs by hand and comes with a pressure gauge. According to KeyKeg, some microbreweries fill 40–60 kegs per hour with two people and four filling heads. The KeyKeg Manual Filling Starter Box 5/8 contains a filling head with gauge, 4 metres of beer tubing, 15 snap caps, a deflating tool, a carbonation calculator, ball valves and a KeyKeg coupler. The connection to your tank is not included.

The dispensing starter kits for 1 or 2 kegs are made for Lindr coolers with a built-in compressor, where air is used as the propellant. They contain KeyKeg couplers, John Guest adapters and LLDPE tubing for beer (3/8") and air (5/16"). The 2-keg kit also includes a T-piece that splits the air to both kegs.

Do KeyKeg couplers fit PolyKeg?

Yes, PolyKeg with K-valve. The Micro Matic and Krome Dispense couplers and the Lindr starter kits are all specified for both KeyKeg and PolyKeg.

How much CO2 can a KeyKeg hold?

The maximum CO2 content for beer in a KeyKeg is 5.1 g/l (2.5 volumes) for KeyKeg Baseline and 7.1 g/l (3.5 volumes) for KeyKeg Slimline. The figures come from KeyKeg's carbonation calculator.

How do you clean a KeyKeg coupler?

A cleaning adapter connects the KeyKeg coupler to a European Sankey S system, such as the mini Jolly 9L cleaning keg, or to a wall-mounted Sankey cleaning line. The spare parts kit contains 3 O-rings, one large sealing ring and a non-return valve with retainer.

What do I need to fill KeyKegs by hand?

A filling head with pressure gauge, tubing from the tank and snap caps to seal the keg. The Starter Box contains all of this except the connection to your tank.
