Simply extract kits – easy brewing with malt extract

Simply extract kits contain 1.8 kg of malt extract and make about 40 half-litre bottles of beer. You add 1 kg of malt extract or dextrose, dilute with water and ferment. Simply comes in seven varieties: Lager, Pale Ale, IPA, Bitter, Brown Ale, Export Stout and Ginger Beer, at 3.8–4.8% ABV.

What else you need

1 kg of malt extract or dextrose to reach the right volume and strength. Malt extract gives the best flavour, for example light spray malt 1 kg for pale beers and dark spray malt 1 kg for Brown Ale and Export Stout.
Sugar or carbonation drops if you bottle-condition. These are not included.
Equipment such as a fermenter with airlock, sanitiser and bottles. If you have no equipment, a starter kit covers what you need.

A Simply kit makes about 40 half-litre bottles, or around 20 litres of beer, when you add 1 kg of malt extract or dextrose.

Can I use sugar instead of malt extract?

Yes, Simply kits can be brewed with dextrose or sugar. We still recommend malt extract, as it gives better flavour, body and mouthfeel.

Is Simply suitable for beginners?

Yes. With an extract kit you skip mashing, sparging and boiling, and you only need basic equipment for fermenting and bottling. The same equipment can be used later if you move on to Fresh Wort Kits or all-grain.

What is the difference between Simply and Mangrove Jack's extract kits?

Simply kits are simple kits with 1.8 kg of malt extract. Mangrove Jack's Craft Series kits have their own yeast strain and often dry hops, and make about 23 litres with 1.2 kg of malt extract or 1.4 kg of Beer Enhancer.
