Still Spirits turbo yeast – yeast, clearing and activated carbon
Turbo yeast is a blend of yeast and nutrients that ferments large amounts of sugar quickly. Here you will find three turbo yeasts from Still Spirits, Classic 8, Pure Turbo and Heat Turbo, plus Turbo Clear, which clears the liquid after fermentation, and Turbo Carbon, activated carbon that removes impurities.
How to choose turbo yeast
- Classic 8 Turbo Yeast 175 g – yeast and nutrients with mineral absorbers. With 6 kg of sugar, fermentation takes 3 days at 18 °C and 2 days at 30 °C. With 8 kg of sugar it takes 10 days at 16 °C and 5 days at 25 °C.
- Pure Turbo Yeast 117 g – for a clean taste, used with Turbo Sugar or dextrose. Fermentation takes 6–7 days at 20–24 °C.
- Heat Turbo Yeast 138 g – for warm conditions. Takes 3–4 days at 25 °C and 2–3 days at 35 °C, and can be stacked up to 200 litres with 8 packs.
- Turbo Clear 130 g – finings that remove over 90 % of yeast cells and solids.
- Turbo Carbon 140 g – activated carbon added straight after the yeast to trap impurities.
Frequently asked questions about turbo yeast
How long does a turbo yeast fermentation take?
From 2 to 10 days, depending on the type, amount of sugar and temperature. Pure Turbo takes 6–7 days at 20–24 °C, while Heat Turbo finishes in 2–3 days at 35 °C.
Which turbo yeast should I use in warm conditions?
Heat Turbo is made for higher temperatures and ferments at both 25 and 35 °C. It is also the only one Still Spirits recommends for stacking several packs in a larger volume.
