The Brewster Beacon 40L is the most affordable way into all-grain brewing. In our own test it held mash temperature within 0.2 °C at 60 and 65 °C. The Brewster Dominator 40 has a conical bottom, a bottom filter covering 60% of the base, only 2 litres of dead space under the grain basket, and is built for CIP cleaning.
Chilling, lids and spare parts
Chilling: the Beacon comes without a chiller. The 8.8 m immersion chiller and 16 m immersion chiller in 304 stainless steel have John Guest 3/8" quick connectors.
Lids and insulation: lid with a 2" hole for a steam condenser or CIP, stainless steel lid for the Dominator 40 and Beacon 70, and neoprene insulation jackets for the Beacon 40 and 70.
What is the difference between the Brewster Beacon and Dominator?
The Beacon 40L is controlled from its LCD screen and has a 2500 W element. The Dominator 40 adds Wi-Fi and app control, a 3000 W low watt density element, a conical bottom and a stronger pump, and can be expanded to 65 litres.
How long does it take to chill wort in the Brewster Beacon?
With the 8.8 m immersion chiller the wort goes from 100 °C to 22 °C in under 30 minutes. The pump then empties the machine in about 3 minutes.
Can I get spare parts for the Brewster Beacon 70?
Yes. We stock the pump, malt pipe, dip tube, whirlpool arm, insulation jacket and lid for the Beacon 70, plus parts that fit both the Beacon 40 and 70, such as the bottom filter and overflow pipe.
