Labelling – labels, label printers and label applicators for bottles and cans

Here you will find what you need to label bottles, cans and jars: HERMA labels on A4 sheets for an ordinary laser or inkjet printer, full-colour label printers from Primera and DTM, and label applicators that put the label on. The HERMA labels suit homebrewers, while the printers and applicators are made for producers of beer, cider, kombucha, jam, honey and other foods.

How to choose a labelling solution

A few cases of homebrew: HERMA labels on A4 sheets. HERMA Premium 105 x 74 mm gives 800 labels on 100 sheets and has an extra-strong adhesive that sticks to cold and damp surfaces. There are also 105 x 148 mm labels, 90 x 120 mm bottle labels and removable 60 mm round labels that come off without residue.
Your own labels in short runs: a roll label printer. The Primera LX500ec has a built-in cutter for standard label shapes. The LX610e prints and contour-cuts labels in any shape.
Higher volumes: the Primera LX910e is built for larger labels and can use dye or pigment ink. The DTM CLP2200e has separate CMYK cartridges and prints labels up to 210 mm wide.
Applying labels: the Primera AP-series applicators label cylindrical and many tapered containers, at up to 1,200 per hour.

Eddie – printing directly on food

The Primera Eddie Edible Ink Printer prints with edible ink directly onto macarons, biscuits, marshmallows, white chocolate and other flat-surfaced foods. It is used by bakeries, confectioners and chocolate makers.

Which labels can I print at home?

HERMA labels come on A4 sheets and work in laser and inkjet printers, copiers and colour printers. You design the label on your computer and print it on an ordinary printer.

Do the labels stick to cold, damp bottles?

HERMA Premium has an extra-strong adhesive that bonds quickly and securely, even on cold and damp surfaces. The removable round labels are made for temporary marking and peel off without residue.

What is the difference between a label printer and a label applicator?

A label printer prints the labels onto a roll. A label applicator puts the finished labels onto the bottle, can or jar with consistent placement.

Can I make labels in a custom shape?

Yes. The Primera LX610e prints and digitally contour-cuts the label, so you do not need pre-die-cut labels. The LX500ec cuts labels in standard shapes.
