Quantor pro – glycol chillers and temperature control for breweries

Quantor pro is the range from German manufacturer Quantor for breweries, cideries and winemakers cooling several fermentation and conditioning tanks. It covers the Chilly M-LT, IceChilly and Chilly MAX glycol chillers, the MiniChilly 17, temperature controllers, manifolds, hose sets and propylene glycol. The large chillers are made to order and shipped directly to the customer.

How to choose a glycol chiller for your brewery

Number and size of tanks: The Quantor Chilly 25 M-LT is rated for up to 4 tanks of 500 litres, with one on cold crash. The Chilly 35 and 45 M-LT have more capacity.
Peak load: The IceChilly 25, 35 and 45 (2.35, 3.3 and 4.4 kW) have an ice bank. When the water is held at 0 °C, ice builds up and provides extra cooling when several tanks need it at once. The Quantor IceChilly 35 is made for microbreweries, cideries and smaller wineries.
Cooling and heating: The Chilly MAX 50, 90 and 110 both cool and heat, with water from −10 to +40 °C, and stand on wheels. The MCK Cooling & Heating is an alternative with a stainless steel water tank.
Control per tank: With a chiller that has a built-in pump, each tank needs a temperature controller and a solenoid valve. FermFlex Mobile-S has both and can be moved from tank to tank.
Pipes and hoses: The Compact Manifold 1/2" connects several tanks to a Chilly 25, 35 or 45 with flexible hoses instead of fixed pipework. It is extended with the 1/2" Expansion in 316 stainless steel, and each tank needs one hose set.

Yeast: Yeast-Booster PRO for activating up to 2 kg of dry yeast per batch, and Yeast-Booster MAX.

Frequently asked questions about brewery glycol cooling

How large a glycol chiller does a brewery need?

It depends on the number of tanks, their volume and how many will be on cold crash at the same time. The Chilly 25 M-LT, for example, covers 4 tanks of 500 litres with one on cold crash. Contact us to size larger systems.

What is the advantage of an ice bank chiller?

An ice bank chiller stores cooling energy as ice in the water tank when demand is low and releases it when several tanks need cooling at once, giving steadier cooling at peak load.

Why use an overflow kit?

If the tanks or pipework sit higher than the chiller, return water can flow back and flood the chiller when the valves close. The Overflow Prevention Kit prevents this and is recommended in such set-ups.
