Bottle wax – sealing wax for wine, beer and spirits bottles
The bottle wax here comes from Sincera Sistemi in Italy and is sold in 100 g blocks in 17 colours, including red, gold, black, silver, copper, blue and pearl white. You dip the bottle neck in melted wax to form a decorative capsule over the cork on wine, beer, mead and spirits. One 100 g block seals about 15–20 bottles.
How to use bottle wax
- Melt the wax slowly to its working temperature of 90–100 °C. It gives off neither steam nor odour.
- Dip the cork and bottle neck into the wax and lift the bottle straight up.
- Let the capsule set. If it is uneven, the wax can be remelted and reused without waste.
Consumption is about 5–7 grams per bottle. Dipping deeper or making a thicker capsule uses more.

- The colour stays stable over time, even when the bottle is kept in a fridge.
