Yeast nutrients Pro are nutrients and protectants for yeast in packs from 500 g to 10 kg, for breweries, cider and wine producers and distilleries. How to choose a yeast nutrient

For wort in the brewery: Yeastlife Extra supplies readily available nitrogen, amino acids, minerals including zinc, and vitamins. The dose is 4–6 g per hl of wort, added at the end of the boil, in the whirlpool or inline to the fermenter. Yeast Vit from Murphy & Son in 5 kg gives a shorter lag phase and more consistent fermentation and flocculation.
Zinc and yeast health: Servomyces is a naturally zinc-enriched brewing yeast from Hefebank Weihenstephan used as a biological yeast nutrient.
Organic nitrogen without DAP: Fermaid O is made of 100 % yeast-derived components and contains no inorganic nitrogen such as ammonium salts.
Complex nutrient: Fermaid K in 2.5 and 10 kg gives the yeast balanced nutrition during the growth phase and reduces the risk of sluggish or stuck fermentation.
When rehydrating dry yeast: Go-Ferm and Go-Ferm Protect Evolution are dosed at 30 g/hl and mixed into the rehydration water before the yeast is added. Go-Ferm Sterol Flash supplies ergosterols for stronger cell membranes and disperses quickly in water.
For wine: Nutrisal from Vinoferm in 1 kg is dosed at 3–6 g per 10 litres.

Frequently asked questions about yeast nutrients

When does beer yeast need nutrients?

Wort usually contains most of what yeast needs, but high gravity, many adjuncts and repitching can cause deficiencies. Yeast nutrient then helps against sluggish fermentation, sulphur and diacetyl.

What is the difference between Fermaid O and Fermaid K?

Fermaid O supplies only organic nitrogen from yeast fractions and contains no DAP. Fermaid K is a complex nutrient used in the growth phase to avoid sluggish or stuck fermentation.

How is Go-Ferm used?

Go-Ferm is mixed into the rehydration water before the dry yeast is added, at 30 g per hectolitre based on total volume. Go-Ferm Protect Evolution can be combined with Fermaid K.
