NPT and BSP fittings – hose barbs, adapters and quick couplers in stainless steel
Here you will find threaded NPT and BSP fittings for breweries and other trade customers: hose barbs, hex nipples, reducers, elbows, crosses, quick couplers and adapters to Tri-Clamp and Gardena. Threads range from 1/4" to 1", and the hose barbs fit hose from 5/16" to 20 mm. The Brumetal and Brewshop parts are made from 304 stainless steel.

How to choose the right threaded fitting
Standard: NPT is the American tapered pipe thread and BSP the British one. They have different thread angles and do not seal against each other, even at the same nominal size. Check what is on the valve, tank or pump before ordering.
Male or female: FPT means a female NPT thread. A 1/2" NPT hex nipple is male at both ends and joins two female parts.
Hose size: Hose barbs are labelled with the thread first and the hose inside diameter last. The 1/2" NPT x 1/2" hose barb therefore fits 1/2" hose. For 3/8" hose there is, among others, a 1/2" BSP x 3/8" hose barb.
NPT (National Pipe Thread) is the American standard with a 60 degree thread angle. BSP (British Standard Pipe) uses 55 degrees. An NPT part will therefore not seal against a BSP part, even if both are marked 1/2".
What do FPT and NPT male mean?
FPT stands for Female Pipe Thread, a female NPT thread. A male thread is often called MPT or NPT male. Our product names state male or female where the abbreviation does not.
Do I need thread tape on NPT threads?
NPT threads are tapered and seal in the threads themselves, but they are normally used with PTFE tape or thread sealant to be fully tight. Avoid overtightening, which can damage the threads.
