Mangrove Jack's extract kits – brew beer without mashing
Mangrove Jack's extract kits contain liquid malt extract and a dry yeast matched to the beer style, and many include dry hops. You mix the extract with water and malt extract or Beer Enhancer, and most kits give about 23 litres of beer. Here you will find the Craft Series and Traditional Series, from pilsner and wheat beer to IPA and stout.
Craft Series and Traditional Series
Craft Series covers modern styles, each kit with its own yeast strain and often dry hops. The kits weigh 1.8–2.5 kg.
Traditional Series covers classic styles such as Blonde Lager, Lucid Pils, Lucky Goat Pale Ale, Belgian Pale Ale and Abbey. Belgian Pale Ale and Abbey give about 10 litres of stronger beer.
We recommend malt extract unless stated otherwise, as it gives better flavour, body and mouthfeel than sugar or dextrose. Mangrove Jack's liquid malt extract 1.2 kg suits most kits. Beer Enhancer 1 is a blend of malt extract, fructose and glucose syrup for pale beers such as lager, pilsner and wheat beer. Beer Enhancer 2 is made for darker beers such as IPA, amber and stout.

What else do I need with a Mangrove Jack's extract kit?
Most kits need 1.2 kg of liquid malt extract or 1.4 kg of Beer Enhancer. Craft Series American Pale Ale needs 700 g of malt extract and Traditional Abbey 600 g. Sugar or carbonation drops for bottling are not included.
Is yeast included?
Yes. Each kit has a dry yeast matched to the style. Craft Series Pils comes with M54 Californian Lager, for example, and American IPA with M44 US West Coast.
How much beer does a Mangrove Jack's extract kit make?
Most kits make about 23 litres. Hazy IPA makes about 18 litres, and Traditional Belgian Pale Ale and Abbey about 10 litres.
Beer Enhancer 1 or 2 – what is the difference?
Beer Enhancer 1 is made for pale beers such as lager, pilsner, wheat beer and pale IPAs. Beer Enhancer 2 is made for darker beers such as IPA, amber and stout.
