Speidel pro – fermenters, pressure tanks and Braumeister for breweries
Speidel pro is the range from German manufacturer Speidel for breweries and producers of cider, wine and kombucha. It covers pressure tanks rated 1.2, 2.5 and 3 bar, conical tanks for fermentation and maturation, non-pressurised fermenters, floating-lid tanks, the Fermentegg and the Braumeister brewing system from 100 to 1000 litres. Brewshop is the Norwegian distributor for Speidel. Almost everything is made to order and shipped directly from the manufacturer, with price on request.
Please note: The professional range is only available in Norway.
How to choose the right Speidel tank
- Pressure: To carbonate or ferment under pressure you need a pressure tank. The FD-1.2B is rated to max 1.2 bar, the FD-2.5B to max 2.5 bar and the FS-MO-3B to 3.0 bar working pressure. Non-pressurised tanks are for fermentation and storage without pressure.
- Conical or flat bottom: The ZKG tanks are cylindro-conical. Yeast collects in the cone and can be removed at the bottom outlet, which suits primary fermentation and maturation of beer.
- Cooling: The FD pressure tanks have a double cooling jacket on the cylinder, so bottom-fermented beer can ferment and mature outside a cold room. The non-pressurised fermenters have laser-welded double jackets with two G1" connections.
- Wine and cider: The Speidel FO1 300 litre floating-lid tank has variable capacity and comes with a pump and gauge for the lid, ball valves and an airlock. The floating lid keeps oxygen away from the liquid.

Frequently asked questions about Speidel for breweries
What is the difference between FD-1.2B and FD-2.5B?
The number is the maximum working pressure: 1.2 bar or 2.5 bar. Both have a double cooling jacket and come in 120 to 1150 litres. If you want to carbonate in the tank, 2.5 bar gives more headroom.
How large is the biggest Braumeister?
The Speidel Braumeister 1000L makes 1000 litres of finished beer from 225 kg of malt. It has 33.8 kW of heating elements, an integrated 2.56 m² cooling jacket and a crane for lifting the malt pipe. Speidel recommends an external chiller as well.
Can I get other sizes or tanks for cider and kombucha?
Yes. This is a selection focused on beer. Speidel builds tanks for beer, cider, wine and kombucha, and we can help with configuration and a quote.
