Wine kits – make red, white and rosé wine at home
A wine kit contains grape must or concentrate and step-by-step instructions, so you can make wine at home without your own grapes. The Winexpert wine kits make about 23 litres of finished wine, around 30 bottles of 0.75 litres, and are ready to bottle after 4 to 8 weeks. Here you will find red, white and rosé from Italy, Spain, Chile, Australia, California and elsewhere.
How to choose a wine kit
- Time: On The House and Classic are ready to bottle after 4 weeks. Reserve takes 6 weeks and Private Reserve 8 weeks.
- Body and complexity: The amount of grape must rises from 6 litres in On The House to 14 litres in Private Reserve. More must gives a fuller wine.
- Grape skins: Several Private Reserve reds include crushed grape skins, which add colour, tannin and structure.
- Wine style: The product pages list sweetness, body, oak and alcohol, so you can compare the wines before you choose.

Frequently asked questions about wine kits
How much wine does a wine kit make?
About 23 litres of finished wine, equal to around 30 bottles of 0.75 litres. This applies to all the Winexpert ranges.
How long does it take to make wine from a kit?
Between 4 and 8 weeks until the wine is ready to bottle, depending on the range. Once the yeast is added, it is mostly a matter of waiting.
What is the difference between Classic, Reserve and Private Reserve?
The amount of grape must and the time. Classic has 8 litres of concentrate and is ready after 4 weeks, Reserve 10 litres and 6 weeks, and Private Reserve 14 litres of must and concentrate and 8 weeks. More must gives more body.

The kits are made to be used with the instructions supplied. Separate wine yeast is mainly needed when you make wine from your own fruit or grapes.
