Description
1.5" Tri-Clamp Vacuum PRV 2 bar – pressure relief valve with vacuum function
This pressure relief valve (PRV) with vacuum function releases pressure at 2 bar and lets air in if a vacuum forms inside the tank. This protects the tank against both overpressure and implosion. It fits a 1.5" Tri-Clamp port on the fermenter.
The vacuum function is especially useful when cold crashing. As the beer cools, the gas in the tank contracts. Without a vacuum valve, a sealed vessel can suck in liquid from a blow-off tube or, in the worst case, implode.
The valve is from Brumetal and is made of top-quality 304 stainless steel, including the spring.

Frequently asked questions about the Tri-Clamp vacuum PRV
Why do I need a vacuum valve when cold crashing?
As the beer cools, the air in the vessel contracts and a vacuum forms. The valve lets air in, so you avoid suck-back and prevent the tank from imploding.
Can the release pressure be adjusted?
Yes. The valve is preset to 2 bar and can be adjusted up to a maximum of 2.2 bar with a 6 mm hex key.
What do I need to fit the valve?
The valve fits a 1.5" Tri-Clamp port with a Tri-Clamp clamp and a gasket.
