Description
34 mm Tri-Clamp Vacuum PRV – 2 bar safety valve with vacuum relief
Pressure relief valve (PRV) with a 34 mm Tri-Clamp and vacuum relief. The valve releases pressure at 2 bar and lets air in if a vacuum forms inside the tank, protecting the tank against implosion. It fits fermenters and other equipment with a 34 mm Tri-Clamp port.
The vacuum function is especially useful during cold crashing. When the beer is chilled, the gas in the tank contracts and negative pressure can build up. The valve is made by Brumetal, Brewshop's own brand, in top-quality 304 stainless steel, spring included.

Frequently asked questions about the 34 mm Tri-Clamp Vacuum PRV
Why does a tank need a vacuum valve?
During a cold crash the gas in the tank contracts. If the tank is completely sealed, the vacuum can pull liquid back through a blow-off tube or, at worst, make the tank implode. The vacuum valve lets air in before that happens.
Can the opening pressure be adjusted?
Yes. The valve is preset to 2 bar and can be adjusted with a 6 mm Allen key. Max pressure is 2.2 bar.
What do I need to fit it?
The tank needs a 34 mm Tri-Clamp port. The valve is fitted with a 34 mm Tri-Clamp clamp and gasket.
