Description
Apollo 30L Unitank – PET pressure fermenter from Keg King
Keg King manufactures its tanks in Springvale, Australia, using advanced PET technology and its own blow-moulding machine. Every tank is pressure tested at 5 bar before leaving the factory, and withstands up to 8 bar.
The Apollo 30L Unitank is easy to use. You can ferment, harvest yeast, clarify and carbonate the beer in one and the same tank, and transfer to kegs, bottles or cans without unnecessary exposure to oxygen. You can also serve fermented and carbonated beer straight from the tank.
The Apollo comes complete with equipment for fermenting and transferring under pressure (max 2.4 bar), including pressure relief valves for pressure fermentation at 0.7 and 1 bar. You can also ferment the traditional way without pressure, using an airlock or blow-off tube.
What you can do with the Apollo 30L Unitank
- Ferment under pressure. The tank is rated for use up to 2.4 bar and pressure tested up to 5 bar.
- Dry hop in a sanitary way through the dry hop port in the lid.
- Carbonate the beer in the fermenter.
- Monitor the fermentation temperature in the middle of the beer, where it counts, with the centred thermowell.
- Dump or harvest yeast through the bottom valve. The new «Plunger Valve» in 304 stainless steel replaces the old butterfly valve for dumping yeast and hops. It is more sanitary, easy to use and does not seize the way a plastic butterfly valve can.
- Serve directly from the tank: connect a tap and use the Apollo as a keg, via the centred floating dip tube with filter.
- Transfer oxygen-free in a closed system via the floating dip tube with filter.
- Control the fermentation temperature with accessories such as a cooling coil and chiller (not included).
- Ferment without pressure, for example with a blow-off tube on one of the ball lock posts or an airlock in the pressure relief valve port.

Technical data
- Dimensions: 40.5 cm diameter × 73 cm height (including the top of the Plunger Valve)
- Max working pressure: 2.4 bar
- Pressure tested at 5 bar, withstands up to 8 bar
We recommend lubricating the seals with Keg Lube.
Important: The tank must not be exposed to hot liquid above 50 °C. It can soften and deform the tank.
Frequently asked questions about the Apollo 30L Unitank
What pressure can I ferment at?
The tank is rated for use up to 2.4 bar. The included pressure relief valves are for pressure fermentation at 0.7 and 1 bar.
Can I ferment without pressure?
Yes. Use a blow-off tube on one of the ball lock posts, or fit an airlock in the pressure relief valve port.
Can I clean the tank with hot water?
No. The tank must not be exposed to liquid above 50 °C, as PET can soften and deform.
How do I cool the tank during fermentation?
With accessories such as a cooling coil and chiller, which are not included. The thermowell in the middle of the tank gives you the right temperature in the beer.
