Fresh, professionally brewed wort of the best quality
The Belgian Saison Fresh Wort Kit contains 20 liters of water-adjusted wort, professionally brewed by Austmann Bryggeri, one of Norway's leading microbreweries. With the goal of providing our customers with the absolute highest quality to produce a perfect craft beer at home, the wort is filled into Bag In Box using a high-tech filling machine. The bag is then flushed with nitrogen to ensure minimal oxygen in the wort. The wort is 100% ready to use, optimally water-adjusted with calcium chloride, calcium sulfate, and lactic acid, and has had both finings and yeast nutrients added during the boil. You do not need to dilute with any water, so just pitch the yeast and follow the instructions regarding fermentation temperature and time.
Frequently asked questions about Belgian Saison
How do I brew Belgian Saison?
Sanitise the fermenter, pour in the 20 litres of finished wort and add the yeast that comes with the kit (2 x LalBrew Farmhouse). Do not add water. Ferment for 14 days at 20 °C, then bottle or keg the beer.
How much beer does it make, and how strong is it?
A 20L Fresh Wort Kit makes roughly 60 bottles of 0.33 L or 40 bottles of 0.5 L. The recipe gives approx. 6.6% ABV.
Which beer is the recipe inspired by?
The recipe is a clone of Saison Dupont from the Belgian brewery Brasserie Dupont. It is hopped with Magnum and Styrian Golding and gives a pale, complex beer with clear bitterness and a slightly spicy aroma.
What is the difference between a fresh wort kit and an extract kit?
A Fresh Wort Kit is 20 litres of fully brewed, professionally water-adjusted wort, not a semi-finished product. It is simpler and quicker than an extract kit, and the beer turns out much better. If you are considering an extract kit, try a fresh wort kit instead.
