Cryo Pop Original Blend
In 2017, Yakima Chief Hops launched a line of innovative hop products known as Cryo Hops® - a cryogenic hop processing technology to produce concentrated lupulin pellets to give brewers maximum aroma impact, while reducing the negative effects often experienced with today's large quantities of hops.
Yakima Chief Hops combined this new process with groundbreaking lab analysis to create Cryo Pop blends. YCH's research facility houses one of the few labs in the world with the ability to analyze previously undiscovered aromatic components, making it possible to identify the components with the greatest potential to be revealed in finished beer. This blend of Cryo Hops contains hop varieties loaded with soluble compounds that survive harsh brewing processes, including heat, fermentation, and CO2. By maximizing the concentrations of the most potent and complementary hop compounds, an incredibly powerful hop pellet is offered that creates a true "pop" of aromas in beer. Cryo Pop Original Blend delivers massive tropical, stone fruit, and citrus aromas.
Cryo Pop can be used in Single Hop beers, as an enhancer of other hop characteristics, or as a perfect choice for addition during active fermentation for biotransformation.

What are Cryo Hops?
Derived from the Greek word "kryos," meaning frost, Cryo Hops® is an industry-leading, cryogenic hop processing technology used to separate whole hop cones into two components - concentrated lupulin and bract. Each component of the hop is preserved using low temperatures in a nitrogen-rich environment throughout the entire process, from separation to pelleting.
Cryo Hops pellets are the concentrated lupulin of the hop containing resins and aromatic oils. They are designed to provide intense hop flavor and aroma, allowing brewers to efficiently dose large quantities of alpha acids and oils without introducing astringent flavors or vegetative material. Cryo Hops pellets can be used anytime where regular hops are traditionally used, but are best suited for whirlpool/hop stand or dry hopping.

As a starting point for developing or modifying recipes, the amount is calculated at 50% of regular pellets by weight. Cryo Hops are particularly suitable for hop-driven beers like IPA and NEIPA.
