Description
Grainfather Electric Grain Mill – electric grain mill without base
The Grainfather Electric Grain Mill is a motorised grain mill with speed control and heavy, hardened stainless steel rollers. Large-diameter rollers and a hopper shaped like those on commercial mills let it crack the husk lengthwise while keeping most of it intact, without over-crushing the grain. Intact husks form a better filter bed in the mash and reduce the risk of a stuck mash.
The roller gap can be adjusted in 10 steps from 0.8 to 2 mm. The mill is supplied without a base. You can buy the base separately, or choose the mill complete with base.

Frequently asked questions about the Grainfather Electric Grain Mill
Why should I mill my own malt?
Milled malt starts to oxidise and lose flavour and aroma. Milling just before brewing gives you the freshest possible ingredients and lets you match the crush to your equipment.
Which roller gap should I use?
It depends on your brewing equipment. BIAB wants a finer crush, while a Speidel Braumeister, for example, wants a considerably coarser one. Too coarse leaves whole kernels and poor efficiency; too fine causes a stuck mash.
How fast does the mill work?
Up to 1.7 kg of malt per minute. The hopper holds 1 kg.
Is the base included?
No, this version comes without a base. The base can be bought separately, or you can choose the mill complete with base.
