Brewtools Inline Filter Kit 2" TC with ball lock – filtering finished beer

The Inline Filter Kit is Brewtools' solution for filtering fully fermented beer. The kit mounts directly on the butterfly valve at the outlet of the fermentation tank, and at the other end you connect a ball lock disconnect to a keg or bottle filler. The kit comes with three stainless steel filters of 300, 600 and 1000 micron.

The filter kit can also be used for other purposes and can be customised with accessories and adapters. If the filter clogs, you only open one Tri-Clamp and rinse the filter in sanitizing solution, without taking the rest apart.

How to use the filter kit

1. Assemble the filter kit and place it in sanitizing solution.
2. Attach the filter kit to the valve on the fermentation tank.
3. Fill the filter with CO2 and release the gas a couple of times to remove oxygen.
4. Open the valve and release air through the PRV.
5. Connect the ball lock disconnect to the keg or bottle filler.

Customising and hot-side use

• For hot-side use (above 60 °C), the Poly tube and nylon filter holder should be replaced with steel parts.
• The filter kit can be doubled so you can combine a coarse and a fine filter.
• Fittings with M16 threads can be used for joining, or if you want a 34 mm TC out of the filter.
• All parts are also sold separately if you want to build your own filter setup.

How do I avoid oxygen in the beer when filtering?

Fill the filter with CO2 and release the gas a couple of times before opening the valve. Release any remaining air through the PRV.
