John Guest 5/16" – 1/4" Reducer – from 5/16" to 1/4" tubing
A John Guest reducer with a 5/16" stem at one end and a push-fit connection for 1/4" OD tubing at the other. The stem pushes into a 5/16" John Guest fitting, so you can step down to 1/4" tubing.

How does a reducer work?
The reducer has a smooth 5/16" stem that pushes into a 5/16" John Guest fitting. At the other end you connect tubing with a 1/4" outside diameter.

The push-fit side takes tubing with a 1/4" outside diameter.
How do I connect the tubing?
Cut the tubing square, ideally with a tube cutter, and push it all the way into the fitting. To release the tubing, push in the collet and pull the tubing out.
