Description

LalBrew Verdant IPA 500 g – ale yeast for hop-forward and malty beers

LalBrew Verdant IPA is an ale yeast from Lallemand, selected together with Verdant Brewing Co. (UK) for its ability to produce both hop-forward and malty beers. It gives prominent notes of apricot with undertones of tropical fruit and citrus, which merge well with hop aromas. With medium-high attenuation it leaves a soft, balanced malt profile with slightly more body than a typical American IPA yeast. The 500 g pack is intended for breweries and larger batches.

Please note: This product is only available in Norway.

Lallemand recommends sprinkling the yeast evenly over the wort while the fermenter is being filled. For Verdant IPA there is no significant difference between direct pitching and rehydration. Store the yeast vacuum-packed and dry below 4 °C. An opened pack must be re-sealed, stored dry below 4 °C and used within 3 days, unless it is vacuum-sealed immediately. Do not use packs that have lost vacuum.

Specifications and instructions

Frequently asked questions about LalBrew Verdant IPA 500 g

How much yeast do I need?

Lallemand recommends 50–100 g per hectolitre. A 500 g pack therefore covers 500–1000 litres of wort. High-gravity, acidic or high-adjunct worts may need more.

What temperature should Verdant IPA ferment at?

Lallemand gives an optimal range of 18–25 °C. In Lallemand’s standard wort at 20 °C, fermentation can be complete in 5 days.

Can the yeast be harvested and re-pitched?

Yes. Lallemand states that Verdant IPA can be re-pitched like any other yeast, following your brewery’s own procedures. The wort must be aerated when re-pitching dry yeast.

Which beer styles is Verdant IPA suited to?

NEIPA, English IPA, American pale ale, English bitter, sweet stout and sour beers.
