Mini Spunding Valve M24 from Brewtools – pressure valve for the MiniUni
Mini spunding valve with M24 threads that fits the Brewtools MiniUni pressure fermentation kit. The valve holds the pressure in the tank at the level you set and releases excess CO2 from fermentation. The operating pressure is 0–2 bar, and the valve comes with an O-ring.
With a spunding valve you can ferment under pressure and carbonate the beer with CO2 from fermentation. Pressure fermentation suppresses esters, so lagers can be fermented warmer and hop aroma is retained.

What does a spunding valve do?
It releases CO2 when the pressure in the tank rises above the level you have set. That keeps the pressure steady during fermentation, and the beer is carbonated by its own CO2.
What pressure should I use for pressure fermentation?
A common pressure is 0.7–1 bar. Let the first couple of days ferment without pressure, and leave 15–20% headspace in the tank. The valve can be set between 0 and 2 bar.
