PolyKeg PRO 30L with bag and K valve – one-way PET keg for beer

The PolyKeg PRO 30L is a one-way PET keg from PolyKeg in Italy, with an inner bag and a K valve compatible with KeyKeg couplers. The 30 litre size is a good compromise between handling and price per litre. PolyKeg developed the technology in 2005. The keg has a barrier against oxygen, CO2 and light, and is sold here as a single keg.

The BIK system: bag with dip tube for less foam

BIK (Bag In Keg) is PolyKeg's own system and is available for all six valve types.

• The bag has an internal dip tube that gives even flow during filling and complete, correct dispensing without unnecessary foam. According to PolyKeg, this means 1–2 litres more beer sold per keg.
• The bag gets a special rinsing and pressure treatment that leaves very little residual oxygen and good hygienic conditions. The keg is ready to fill without further treatment.
• The bag is folded so that it opens gradually during filling, without stress or damage to the film.
• The bag is made from a multilayer film that protects against O2, CO2 and light, and resists tears and punctures well.
• The dip tube and folded bag allow the keg to be filled upright or upside down, with manual or automatic fillers.
• Natural carbonation with sugar in the PolyKeg is also possible.

Integrated pressure relief valve

The integrated pressure relief valve (PRV) has two functions:

• It automatically releases pressure above 5.5 bar throughout the life of the keg, and closes again when the pressure is back below that value.
• After use, the lever on the valve can be removed to release all pressure from the keg. No extra equipment is needed, and nobody has to stay with the keg while it depressurises.

Please note: Star San and other acid-based sanitizers can damage the pressure relief valve on the PolyKeg.

Compatibility

PolyKeg kegs are available with six valve types: A, S, D, G, M and K (KeyKeg compatible), and fit the most common filling and dispensing systems. Ready to use

The PolyKeg needs no internal cleaning. It is supplied purged with nitrogen, vacuumed and then pressurised with 0.5 bar CO2, ready to fill. This keeps oxygen pickup during filling low.
