Description
Rice hulls 17 kg full sack – for better lautering
Rice hulls from Castle Malting are used to prevent a stuck mash and improve lautering when you brew. The hulls open up the grain bed so the wort runs through more easily. This is especially useful when the recipe has a high share of wheat, rye or flaked grains. Rice hulls add no flavour to the beer. The 17 kg full sack suits breweries and frequent brewers.
How to use rice hulls
Mix the rice hulls into the milled malt before mashing in. Use up to 5% of the total grain bill. When double mashing with a very full malt pipe, a handful of rice hulls can also help prevent a stuck mash.
