Frequently asked questions about SafCider TF-6
How much SafCider TF-6 should I use?
Fermentis recommends 20–40 g/hl, either sprinkled directly onto the must or rehydrated. 500 g therefore covers 12.5–25 hl.
What temperature should the cider ferment at?
The yeast handles 10–30 °C, but the ideal range is 15–25 °C.
Why does TF-6 need yeast nutrient?
The yeast has a high nitrogen demand. If the must is low in nitrogen, add yeast nutrient to avoid a sluggish fermentation and off-flavours.
What is the difference between TF-6 and AB-1?
TF-6 gives a fruity, sweet profile, while AB-1 and AC-4 give a cleaner, drier cider.
