Silicone bung D36-44 – bung with hole for an airlock
Tapered silicone bung from Brewferm, 36 mm in diameter at the narrow end and 44 mm at the wide end. The bung has a 9 mm hole for an airlock and is used to seal fermenters, glass carboys and bottles with an opening between 36 and 44 mm.

How do I find the right size?
Measure the inner diameter of the opening. The bung fits when it is between 36 and 44 mm, so the bung goes some way into the opening and seals well.
Do standard airlocks fit the hole?
The hole is 9 mm, which is a common size for airlocks. Still, check the stem diameter of your airlock.
Why silicone rather than rubber?
Silicone handles heat and sanitisers well and does not give off flavour. The bung is easy to clean and can be reused.
