Speidel airlock with bung – large type for Speidel fermenters
The airlock lets CO2 from fermentation escape while keeping air, dust and insects out of the fermenter. This Speidel airlock is the large type and comes with a bung. It fits Speidel fermenters of 12, 20, 30, 60 and 120 litres.

Frequently asked questions about the Speidel airlock
What should I fill the airlock with?
Fill the airlock to the mark with water or a diluted sanitiser solution, so air cannot get in while CO2 bubbles out.
Does fermentation stop when the airlock stops bubbling?
Not necessarily. Little bubbling can be caused by a leak around the lid. Take hydrometer readings two days in a row. If the gravity is stable, fermentation is complete.
Does the airlock fit fermenters other than Speidel?
The bung has a diameter of 35/44 mm. It fits Speidel fermenters of 12, 20, 30, 60 and 120 litres. If another fermenter has a hole of the same size, it can be used there too.
