Description
Tilt Pro Hydrometer & Thermometer – wireless readings in larger steel tanks
The Tilt Pro is a floating hydrometer and thermometer that sits in the beer during fermentation and continuously measures specific gravity (SG) and temperature. It is designed for larger stainless steel fermenters, for breweries and homebrewers with larger equipment. The Tilt Pro has three times the volume and weight of the original Tilt. The extra size gives more than double the battery life, a more stable signal and higher resolution.
Features
- Pre-installed Energizer AA lithium batteries keep the Tilt Pro running for 3–5 years, depending on use
- More stable SG readings at high krausen, giving a smoother curve on iPhone, Android or Raspberry Pi
- High-gain antenna that increased range by 20% over the original Tilt in testing. The signal gets through thick foam and heavy steel walls more easily
- Higher resolution for both SG (1.0000) and temperature
- All logic is built into the unit. It does not rely on a cloud service to work
- Available in five colours: black, blue, red, green and yellow
Technical data
- Size: 43 mm diameter × 140 mm length
- Weight: 153 g
- SG resolution: 0.0001
- SG range: 0.9900–1.1200
- Thermometer precision: ± 0.1 °C
- Absolute temperature range: −40 °C to 85 °C
- Batteries: 2 × 1.5 V AA (Li/FeS2), Energizer AA Ultimate Lithium
Food-grade approved
The Tilt Hydrometer is made from durable plastic that withstands large temperature swings and high pressure. It is approved for use with both food and medical equipment.

Frequently asked questions about Tilt Pro Hydrometer & Thermometer
What is the difference between the Tilt Pro and the standard Tilt?
The Tilt Pro is three times the size and weight. This gives more than double the battery life, a more stable signal at high krausen, 20% longer range in testing and higher resolution. It is designed for larger stainless steel tanks.
How long does the battery last?
The pre-installed Energizer AA lithium batteries keep the Tilt Pro running for 3–5 years, depending on use.
Do I need internet to use the Tilt Pro?
No. All the logic is in the unit itself, and it does not depend on a cloud-based server. You read the measurements on iPhone, Android or Raspberry Pi, and can also log them in Brewfather.
How do I know fermentation is finished?
Fermentation is finished when the SG stays at the same value for 2–3 days in a row. With the Tilt Pro you can see this directly in the curve, without taking samples.
