TP 990 disinfectant 20 kg from Ecolab – foaming disinfection in the brewery
TP 990 from Ecolab is a liquid, foaming disinfectant with cleaning properties, made for the food industry. It is well suited for standing disinfection in vessels and similar, and for external disinfection of other equipment in the brewery. The foam gives visual control of where the product has been applied. Hoses and equipment must be clean before disinfection and rinsed with clean water before use.

The 20 kg container is shipped on a pallet, as the product is classified as dangerous goods.
Use
- surface disinfection and soaking: 1.0–2.0% solution, 10–70 °C, contact time 15–60 minutes
- low-pressure systems: 2.0% solution (2 dl per 10 litres of water), 10–70 °C, contact time 15–60 minutes
- all surfaces in contact with food must be rinsed thoroughly with clean water afterwards
- not suitable for CIP systems

Frequently asked questions about TP 990 disinfectant
Can TP 990 be used in CIP systems?
No. According to Ecolab’s product description, TP 990 is suitable for low-pressure systems and manual use, but not for CIP systems.
Must equipment be rinsed after disinfection?
Yes. All surfaces in contact with food must be rinsed thoroughly with clean water after cleaning and disinfection.
Why is TP 990 shipped on a pallet?
The product is classified as dangerous goods and is therefore shipped on a pallet.
Can TP 990 be mixed with other chemicals?
Be aware of the risks of mixing, including in the drain. Ecolab warns, among other things, that chlorine and acid products used at the same time can form dangerous chlorine gas.
