The Traeger Ironwood XL is a large pellet grill that delivers wood-fired flavour and stable, precise temperatures. Smart Combustion technology keeps the temperature steady, and a touchscreen lets you set the temperature as easily as on your oven. Fully insulated double walls retain heat well, and the EvenFlow Heat Shield distributes heat evenly inside the grill, whatever the weather.
The Ironwood is highly versatile: you can grill, smoke, bake and roast on the same grill, from low-and-slow brisket to snacks and desserts. Super Smoke mode and the Downdraft Exhaust give food extra smoky flavour.
App control
With Traeger’s WiFIRE technology and the Traeger app you can monitor and adjust the grill wherever you are: change the temperature, track the core temperature of your food and set timers and alerts. The app gives access to over 1,600 recipes from Traeger’s chef team. The grill can also be voice controlled via Alexa or Google Home compatible devices.
Customise your grill
The Ironwood is compatible with ModiFIRE accessories, giving you different cooking surfaces for small vegetables, shrimp or fish, for example. The P.A.L. (Pop-And-Lock) rails let you attach shelves, storage bins and tool hooks. A dedicated grease and ash collection system makes cleaning faster.

How hot does the Ironwood XL get?
The temperature range is 74–260 °C. That covers everything from low-temperature smoking to searing steak.
Can I grill steak on a pellet grill?
Yes. A good method is the reverse sear: cook the meat at low temperature until it approaches the target core temperature, then finish at maximum heat for a crust.
How much pellets does the grill hold?
The hopper holds 9 kg, and the Pellet Sensor shows the level in the app.
What is the difference between Ironwood and Timberline?
Both are double-walled and have Super Smoke. Timberline is the flagship and has, among other things, a built-in induction cooktop. The Ironwood can be used with the Traeger Induction cooktop, sold separately.
