Project Brew – Fresh Wort Kits, beer kits and brewing gear

Project Brew is a product range for homebrewers. It includes Fresh Wort Kits with 20 litres of ready-made wort, all-grain beer kits, hard seltzer kits, fermenting buckets, a hop spider, a grain mill and heat mats, plus draught gear such as Beer Gas cartridges, CO2 regulators, picnic taps and a 5 litre mini keg.

Choosing a Project Brew product

The easiest start: A Fresh Wort Kit gives you 20 litres of freshly brewed wort. There is no mashing or boiling; you pitch yeast in the fermenter.
Brewing from grain: The all-grain kits are for brewers who mash and boil themselves. Styles range from pilsner and kölsch to IPA, porter, stout and barley wine.
Hard seltzer: The 4-Day Hard Seltzer Kit follows the method recommended by Omega Yeast and comes complete with 2 kg of sugar, in flavours such as mango, passion fruit, raspberry and apricot.
Fermenting: The 33 litre fermenting buckets are food-grade PP, graduated in litres, with or without a tap. The 30 W and 100 W heat mats keep fermentation warm.
Serving: Beer Gas cartridges hold 70% nitrogen and 30% CO2 for creamy stouts and porters. The picnic tap has a 1/4" stem for John Guest push-fit.

Project Brew FAQ

What is a Fresh Wort Kit?

A Fresh Wort Kit is wort that has already been mashed, boiled and hopped. You pour it into the fermenter and pitch the yeast. It gives you all-grain beer without brewing equipment and a short brew day.

What is Beer Gas?

Beer Gas is a mix of 70% nitrogen and 30% CO2 that gives stouts and porters a creamy mouthfeel. The beer is carbonated with CO2 first, and Beer Gas is used for dispensing. It needs a dedicated Beer Gas regulator, which delivers higher pressure than a standard CO2 regulator.

Does the picnic tap fit John Guest fittings?

Yes. The tap has a 1/4" stem for John Guest push-fit, with a 1/4" to 3/16" reducer fitted. You can then connect beer line with a 3/16" outer diameter.

What comes with the 33 litre fermenting bucket?

The bucket has a lid with a hole for an airlock, and the version with a tap is graduated in litres. The rubber grommet and airlock are sold separately. It is 38 cm wide and 39 cm tall.
