Description
Secret Pale Ale – Limited Edition all-grain beer kit with Vic Secret
Secret Pale Ale is a fresh and aromatic American Pale Ale built around the Australian hop variety Vic Secret. The hop is used throughout the brewing process, from bittering to late additions, hopstand and dry hopping, giving a balanced beer with clear hop character.
The malt base is pale ale malt with a little Caramel Munich II. The pale ale malt provides a light, solid foundation, while Caramel Munich II adds a light caramel note, toasted malt character and a bit of extra body. The result is a golden to copper-coloured pale ale with a good balance between malt and hops.
Vic Secret is known for pronounced notes of pineapple and pine, with hints of tropical fruit. A total of 100 grams of hops is split between the boil, late addition, hopstand and dry hop. Fermentis US-05 gives a clean, neutral fermentation that lets the malt and hops take centre stage. The beer is fermented at 20 °C and finishes at about 5 % ABV.
This is a Limited Edition beer kit produced in limited numbers only.

Frequently asked questions about Secret Pale Ale
What does Secret Pale Ale taste like?
Fresh and hop-aromatic, with pineapple, tropical fruit and pine from Vic Secret, a lightly caramel malt base and a pleasant bitterness.
What is a hopstand?
A hopstand is hops added after the boil once the wort has cooled a little, usually to 70–90 °C, and left for 10–30 minutes. It gives lots of aroma and little extra bitterness.
Is the malt crushed?
No. The malt is supplied uncrushed because crushed malt starts to lose flavour and aroma. Crush it with a grain mill right before you brew.
How much beer does the kit make?
The recipe assumes 28 litres pre-boil and about 25 litres post-boil. The beer finishes at about 5 % ABV.
