This stainless steel adapter is a reducer from a DN50 female connection to a DN40 male connection, both to DIN 11851, also known as dairy coupling. Use it to connect DN50 equipment, such as a tank outlet, to DN40 hoses, valves or pumps.
The female side with nut screws onto a DN50 male part, and the male side connects to a DN40 female part. Both sides are sealed with a gasket.

Frequently asked questions
What is DIN 11851?
DIN 11851 is a German standard for threaded pipe couplings in the food industry, often called dairy coupling. The male side has external threads and connects to a female part with a nut and gasket.
What do DN50 and DN40 mean?
DN stands for nominal diameter, i.e. the size of the coupling. The adapter steps down from the larger DN50 to the smaller DN40.
Do I need a gasket?
Yes, both sides are sealed with a gasket. EPDM gaskets for DN50 and DN40 are sold separately.
