Description

Cascade hop pellets 5 kg – classic American aroma hop

Cascade is a classic American hop with a distinct aroma of grapefruit, citrus and flowers. It was developed in an Oregon breeding programme from Fuggle and Serebrianker. Cascade is known for balanced bitterness and is used for both flavour and aroma in American-inspired beers. The 5 kg pack suits breweries and brewers who make large batches or use a lot of the same variety.

Please note: This product is only available in Norway.

Frequently asked questions about Cascade

Which beer styles suit Cascade?

Cascade is typical in American pale ale, IPA, amber ale and blonde ale. It gives a fresh grapefruit and floral character and works both on its own and with other American varieties.

Which alpha acid should I use in my calculations?

Use the alpha acid stated in the product title. It is measured on the lot you receive. The range under Technical data shows typical values for the variety and varies from crop to crop.

How can I tell if the hops are still good?

Fresh pellets are green. Brown pellets or a cheesy smell indicate that the hops have oxidised. Yakima Valley Hops recommends using pellets within five years of pelletising, but hops kept cold and away from light and oxygen can last longer.
