Craft Series Irish Red Ale – extract kit from Mangrove Jack's
A full-bodied, fruity Irish Red Ale with notes of dark berries and a hint of caramel. Goldings dry hops add a subdued, earthy aroma, and the beer finishes with a subtle toffee note. The kit makes approx. 23 litres of beer.
The extract kits in Mangrove Jack's Craft Series contain liquid malt extract, dry yeast and, where applicable, dry hops. Priming sugar for carbonation is not included.
What else you need
To brew the Irish Red Ale you also need 1.2 kg of liquid malt extract, also called Pure Malt Enhancer, to reach the intended alcohol content. Use for example Mangrove Jack's liquid malt extract light 1.2 kg. Malt extract gives the beer better flavour, body and mouthfeel than sugar or dextrose.

What else do I need to brew the Irish Red Ale?
You need 1.2 kg of liquid malt extract in addition to the kit. Mangrove Jack's lists 1 kg of dextrose or Brew Enhancer as an alternative, but malt extract gives better flavour and body. Priming sugar is not included.
At what temperature should the beer ferment?
Mangrove Jack's recommends 18–23 °C with the included M36 Liberty Bell Ale yeast.
What does the Irish Red Ale taste like?
Fruity and full-bodied, with dark berries, caramel and a smooth toffee finish. Goldings adds a subdued, earthy hop aroma.
Is there a simpler option with a better result?
Yes. A Fresh Wort Kit contains 20 litres of fully brewed wort from a professional brewery, and you simply pitch the yeast. It is easier and faster, and the beer turns out much better. If you are considering an extract kit, try a Fresh Wort Kit instead.
