Can I measure FG with this hydrometer?
No. The scale starts at 1.050, so fully fermented beer is below the range. For FG, use a hydrometer with a lower scale, such as 1.000–1.030.
How do I get an accurate reading?
Cool the sample to room temperature before measuring, and read where the liquid surface crosses the scale.
Do I need a test jar?
A test jar makes it easy to take a sample and let the hydrometer float freely. The hydrometer is 270 mm long.
