The INK-IFT01 is a fast and convenient infrared thermometer that measures the temperature of a surface without touching it. The optimal measuring distance is 36 cm. The built-in laser makes it easy to aim exactly where you want to measure, and the thermometer is well suited for checking the heat in a pizza oven.

Adjustable emissivity lets you set the thermometer according to the surface texture of the material and how much it reflects. The scale runs from 0.1 to 1.0, where 1.0 corresponds to an optimal surface (black and non-reflective) and 0.1 to a shiny, highly reflective surface.

Note: The thermometer is for surfaces, not for people. It cannot measure the internal temperature of an object. Do not point the laser at anyone's eyes.

Can I measure the temperature in my pizza oven?

Yes. The thermometer measures up to 550 °C, so you can check whether the stone is hot enough before the pizza goes in.

Can I measure the core temperature of meat or wort?

No. The thermometer only measures the surface. For core temperature you need a thermometer with a probe.

What is emissivity?

Emissivity describes how much heat radiation a surface emits. Shiny surfaces emit less than matt and dark ones, and you adjust the setting from 0.1 to 1.0 to get a correct reading.

Is the battery included?

Yes. The thermometer comes with a 9 V battery.
