The jacket insulates the tank so the temperature stays more stable during fermentation, and it protects the beer from light. Use it with a heat mat / heat belt and cooling coil to keep the right fermentation temperature.

Which tanks does the jacket fit?
The jacket fits the Apollo 30L Snub Nose and Apollo 30L Unitank from Keg King. For the Fermenter King 60L and Apollo 60L Snub Nose there is a separate insulation jacket.
Can I use a heat mat with the jacket?
Yes. The jacket can be used with a heat belt or heat mat, and with a cooling coil in the tank. The insulation means the temperature fluctuates less when the room gets warmer or colder.
Why is a stable fermentation temperature important?
Yeast produces heat of its own when fermentation is at its most vigorous, and the room temperature varies through the day. Too high a temperature gives more esters and fusel alcohols, while too low a temperature gives a sluggish fermentation. The more stable the temperature, the cleaner the beer.
Why should the tank be protected from light?
Light can give beer an off-flavour, especially hoppy beer. The Apollo tanks are transparent, and the jacket keeps the light out while the beer ferments.
