EU Standard Shank: 5/8" x 60mm bushing with European threads. Also fits tap towers with European threads.
Nostalgie and Baroko faucets from LUKR in Pilsen, Czech Republic, are known worldwide for their unique design and special pouring capabilities. These faucets are instruments for beer artists and can positively affect the taste of poured beer.
The side-pour faucet is a Central European creation, and you will see it in any Czech pub that truly cares about beer. This is, after all, the birthplace of pilsner, and the side-pour faucet is ideal for pouring pilsner because it ensures there is always plenty of dense, wet foam.
The faucet brings out the spicy, hoppy aromas of Saaz in Pilsner Urquell, and its special design allows you to pour the beer quickly, with wet foam on top and golden pilsner underneath.
The faucet is longer than regular beer taps and should be lowered into the beer as the glass fills. Unlike vertical taps, which have a piston valve, side-pour taps are built around a ball valve. You open the tap for more beer and close it partially for more wet foam. Inside the tap, there is a small filter, which aerates the beer and thickens the foam.
A perfectly poured Pilsner Urquell should have a thick head with dense, wet foam to protect the beer and seal in freshness and taste.
Tip: Partially open the faucet (10-20 degrees) to get a rich foam, before fully opening the faucet to pour beer under the foam.
